    Death Stranding: Director’s Cut Mac Pre-Orders Now Available

    Kojima Productions and 505 Games have opened pre-orders for the upcoming Mac version of Death Stranding: Director’s Cut. Pre-orders for Death Stranding: Director’s Cut are available in the App Store, and the upcoming release will run natively on Apple silicon. 

    Death Stranding: Director’s Cut will make use of Metal 3, a new technology that is natively supported on Mac platforms. Metal 3 includes the new MetalFX upscaling technology, which acts similarly to NVIDIA DLSS, AMD FSR, and Intel XeSS. Fans can expect parity with the existing PlayStation 5 and PC versions of Death Stranding: Director’s Cut. The Director’s Cut content includes Ruined Factory location, new delivery assists for protagonist Sam Bridges, enhanced melee combat, and much more.

    Following the release of Death Stranding: Director’s Cut, Apple fans can expect more titles from Hideo Kojima and Kojima Productions. Further details about these future titles were not revealed, however.

Death Stranding: Director’s Cut on the Mac takes advantage of the latest Apple technologies to provide the best experience to our fans.”

    “A new era for gaming on Mac is here. Thanks to the power of Apple silicon, now tens of millions of Macs can run demanding games with outstanding performance, exceptional battery life, and breathtaking visuals,” said Apple Worldwide Developer Relations vice president Susan Prescott in a press release. “We’re thrilled Death Stranding: Director’s Cut will be coming to the Mac later this year. Developers around the world can harness our powerful tools in Metal 3 to deliver incredibly responsive gameplay with high frame rates to more players than ever before.”

    Lastly, Death Stranding 2 is in development for PlayStation 5 with no confirmed release date. A brand-new Death Stranding film is also in the works.
