Nintendo has begun to share more information about Splatoon 3 Sizzle Season including new weapons, maps, and Challenges. Sizzle Season begins on June 1, and players can also expect new clothing and cards to add to their collection.
Some of the new Splatoon 3 content coming in Sizzle Season includes the new Barnacle & Dime multiplayer stage, Painbrush and S-BLAST ’92 weapons, and Jammin’ Salmon Junction Salmon Run stage. Further, Sizzle Season introduces new cards, a new clothing catalog, and new Challenges. Nintendo plans to regularly share more information about Sizzle Season leading into launch day.

The iconic Super Scope is finally coming to Splatoon 3 as the S-BLAST ’92, one of the new Sizzle Season weapons. S-BLAST ’92 wielders may take advantage of a precision firing mode and a short-range blast mode. Players may activate the short-range mode by jumping while firing. While on the ground, the precision mode will be automatically enabled with extended range.

The League Battle feature from Splatoon 2 returns in Splatoon 3 Chill Season with a new name: Challenges. Solo players and teams may enjoy matches with special rules for a limited time. Challenges will come and go in Splatoon 3, and the feature may act as a tourney qualifier according to Nintendo. The first Challenge is called New Season Challenge, and it will be active in three windows. These windows are June 2 from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m., June 3 from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m., and June 3 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. (all times in PDT).

Nintendo also revealed three new Challenges coming to Splatoon 3 after New Season Challenge concludes. These Challenges are Too Many Trizookas, Foggy Notion, and Extreme Jump Battle. In Too Many Trizookas, Trizooka weapons may be fired endlessly. Foggy Notion envelopes an entire multiplayer map with a dense fog, and Extreme Jump Battle changes jumping physics for a limited time.

Nintendo describes the Painbrush to be the heaviest and newest brush in Splatoon 3. The first swing from the Painbrush is slow, but subsequent swings are fast with wider ink strokes. Players may hold down the ZR button to advance quickly with the Painbrush.

Sizzle Season introduces Anarchy Power, which is calculated when a team of 2-4 players plays at least five Anarchy Battles (Open) without disbanding. Anarchy Power is separate from normal Rank Points according to Nintendo. Anarchy Power is only shown while having the Match Menu open in a team, but players can check the lobby terminal later to see the highest value recorded. In Sizzle Season and beyond, players may change gear between battles while keeping the team together.

The new Jammin’ Salmon Junction map will be introduced into Salmon Run in Splatoon 3 Sizzle Season. The new map is the site of multilane highway that fell into disrepair and was later turned into a concert venue.

Eggstra Work is getting a major update in Sizzle Season, allowing solo players to enjoy the mode and reach a new high score. The next Eggstra Work event is scheduled for June 30 through July 2. Additionally, the next Big Run event is scheduled for June 9 at 5 p.m. PDT to June 11 at 5 p.m. PDT.

Two more weapons have been revealed for Splatoon 3 Sizzle Season: the H-3 Nozzlenose D and Rapid Blaster Pro Deco. The H-3 Nozzlenose D is a new version of the regular H-3 Nozzlenose D with Big Bubbler, Splash Wall, and a new emblem. Rapid Blaster Pro Deco is another revamped weapon, which comes equipped with the Angle Shooter and Killer Wail 5.1.

Sizzle Season brings the new Barnacle & Dime map into Splatoon 3. The new map is located in a Splatsville upscale mall with a giant series of fountains. Customers may be seen shopping at the mall around the exterior of the map.

Splatoon 3 players will have access to the new Light Tetra Dualies and Tenta Sorella Brella weapons. The Light Tetra Dualies are redesigned Tetra Dualies featuring the Sprinkler sub and Zipcaster special. Additionally, this weapon allows for four consecutive dodge rolls, allowing the player to evade oncoming fire. Tenta Sorella Brella is an offense-focused version of the Tenta Brella with Ink Mines and the Trizooka.

Two more revamped weapons are coming to Splatoon 3 Sizzle Season in the form of the Splatana Wiper Deco and Annaki Splattershot Nova. Splatana Wiper Deco performs identically to the existing Splatana Wiper, but the new weapon has a redesign. Additionally, Splatana Wiper Deco includes Squid Beakon and Tenta Missiles. Meanwhile, Annaki Splattershot Nova is a collaboration between the Splattershot makers and the Annaki brand. This new weapon is equipped with Ink Mines and the Inkjet.

The Humpback Bump map from Splatoon 2 makes its triumphant return in Splatoon 3 during the new season. It’s layout is virtually identical to its previous appearance in Splatoon 2.

11 new Tableturf Battle cards will be added to the game when Sizzle Season launches. Additionally, win streaks for online matches will now be visible in Sizzle Season and beyond. The streak resets to zero when the player leaves a room.

Three more revamped weapons are coming in Sizzle Season: Custom Dualie Squelchers, Heavy Splatling Deco, and Big Swig Roller Express. All three weapons perform similarly to their original counterparts, but these weapons are equipped with different sub and special weapons.

First, Custom Dualie Squelchers come equipped with the Squid Beakon and Super Chump. The Heavy Splatling Deco features the Point Sensor and Kraken Royale, and the Big Swig Roller Express includes the Angle Shooter and Ink Storm. Players may enjoy these weapons with a fresh new coat of paint and style.

The version 4.0.0 update launches for Splatoon 3, bringing official support for Sizzle Season ahead of the June 1 launch. Nintendo confirms that Sizzle Season will bring new stickers and retro consoles for a player’s locker. These retro consoles include the SNES, Nintendo 64, and Nintendo Gamecube.

Several multiplayer changes and adjustments will be made alongside the introduction of new features. For instance, two exceptional players on a winning team may now fist bump after their victory emotes.

Starting with version 4.0.0, players can now view the locker room, check notifications, or watch ghosts during the matchmaking process. The ability to create Private Matches with the Nintendo Switch Online mobile app has been streamlined as well.
