    Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis Reveals Sonic and Ghost in the Shell Collabs, June 2023 Updates

    Sonic and Motoko join the fray

    SEGA revealed new information about several new updates coming to Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis, including the previously announced version 2.0 update. Version 2.0 launches on June 7 with long-awaited features for Creative Space. Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis players can expect a lot more content, including Sonic the Hedgehog and Ghost in the Shell collabs.

    The May 30 edition of NGS Headline begins with a recap of Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis version 2.0 update. As previously revealed, version 2.0 will introduce the ability to link Build Parts and create a wide range of elements in Creative Space on June 7. Remade versions of Phantasy Star Online 2 furnishings will also be available in Creative Space, allowing players to choose from a vast suite of items and options.

    Alongside a substantial upgrade to Creative Space, the new update brings a new cel-shading feature, new skills for classes, quality of life improvements, ‘Easy’ Photo Mode, and Sonic the Hedgehog collaboration gear. Moreover, Chapter 6 Part 1 of the main story will be available as players search for Manon. Fans can also expect another major change will be made to PSO 2 data. Following June 7, PSO 2 data will no longer be required to play New Genesis on PC and Xbox One. Instead, this data will be available as free DLC for those wanting to play the original PSO 2 or use Music Discs requiring PSO 2 data.

    Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis – June 14 Update

    Just one week after the launch of version 2.0, the online RPG will receive another major update in a series of updates launching throughout June. New Starless enemy species will make their presence known around the game world. Players may defeat Starless with new 9-star Tisah weapons, which also make its debut on June 14. Additionally, the class level cap will be raised to 75, and new High Rank Sectors will be available in the Aelio Region. 

    Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis players can also expect a serious challenge while battling level 79 Gigantix, Starless Gigantix, and Recon Gigants. Additional ranks and enemy level changes will be made to Urgent and Trigger Quests to provide more tough content for high level players. Before battling challenging enemies, players may receive valuable rewards from Mission Pass 21 or draw from AC Support Item Select June ’23 and Accessory Collection June ’23 Scratch Tickets.

    Sonic Collaboration Update

    Sonic the Hedgehog returns to Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis on June 21 to celebrate Sonic’s birthday. Statues of iconic Sonic characters will be on display in Central City, and players may earn a variety of special collaboration items through limited-time tasks and login bonuses. A new “Green Hill Sprint” Limited-Time Quest will be available, allowing players to sprint through Dash Rings and collect rings just like Sonic in Sonic Frontiers. SEGA wants fans to be on the lookout for more Sonic statues and BGM. 

    Alongside the new Sonic content, players may take on a super-powerful boss enemy in Duel: Phase 2 in South Aelio. This is an unforgiving solo challenge with no revives and a five-minute time limit. Players may earn a variety of titles and rewards by yielding better results from this challenge. More rewards are up for grabs in draws from the Spiritual Conflict AC Scratch Ticket featuring costumes with angel and devil motifs. 

    Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 Collaboration Update

    One week after the Sonic collaboration, Motoko Kusanagi comes to Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis in a new Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 collaboration. On June 28, players may draw from the Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 AC Scratch Ticket to earn outfits modeled after Motoko and Batou from the anime. A variety of additional cosmetics, including a Tachikoma AI tank and various weapon camos, will be available. Rewards may be earned from Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 collaboration login bonuses as well.

    Lastly, Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Epic Games Store, Windows, and Steam.
