    New Dragon Quest Monsters Game Now in Development for Switch

    Get ready for a new adventure.

    Square Enix announced a new Dragon Quest Monsters game is currently in development for Nintendo Switch. The upcoming title celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Dragon Quest spin-off series.

    In a new trailer celebrating 25 years of Dragon Quest Monsters, Square Enix confirmed a new game in the series is now in development. The end of the trailer depicts the following text: “So get ready for a new adventure. In development for Nintendo Switch.” Fans can expect to capture, breed, and raise monsters in the upcoming spin-off title once more. The very first Dragon Quest Monsters title released on September 25, 1998 for Game Boy Color in Japan.

    Dragon Quest Monsters 25th Anniversary Celebration Trailer

    Square Enix also announced Infinity Strash: Dragon Quest The Adventure of Dai launches on September 28 worldwide. The developers confirm the game will be coming to Xbox Series X|S alongside the previously announced Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC versions. Pre-orders for the standard edition and digital deluxe edition are available now with special early purchase bonuses.

    Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake and Dragon Quest XII: The Flames of Fate are still in development. This past December, Dragon Quest series creator Yuji Horii stated more news about Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake is coming soon. Additionally, Horii reiterated that the development team is working hard on Dragon Quest XII: The Flames of Fate.

    “We’re working hard on Dragon Quest XII and Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake!” Horii said in December 2022. “I can’t say much yet, but we might be able to deliver more news on DQ III soon. We’re grateful that people are putting big expectations on DQ III too.”

    Lastly, Dragon Quest Treasures, the latest release in the long-running Dragon Quest series, launched on December 9, 2022 for Nintendo Switch.
