WayForward and Arc System Works shared a brief update on the long-awaited performance update for River City Girls 2. The upcoming patch has now been submitted to all first parties according to the official WayForward Twitter account. Additionally, a few more details have been revealed about the update’s contents.
Patch Enters the Approval Process
This past March, WayForward and Arc System Works confirmed testing for the new patch concluded. Now, the River City Girls 2 performance update is awaiting approval on all platforms after being submitted to Microsoft, Nintendo, and Sony. Due to the game’s inclusion of cross-play, the patch must be approved by all parties before it’s launched in all regions. River City Girls 2 players can expect an official notice once the update has been approved on all platforms.
The new River City Girls 2 update targets improvements for overall game performance and frame rate. However, the new patch will not introduce 60 frames-per-second support for the Nintendo Switch version. WayForward states that the Nintendo Switch version will still receive performance improvements. Additionally, the new patch includes the ability to repeat New Game+ playthroughs. Players can also expect several bug fixes, which will be detailed in patch notes once the update is available.
