WayForward announced the original Shantae game is coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on June 2. The latest release of Shantae means every single title in the series will be available on PlayStation systems for the first time. The entire series is also available now for Nintendo Switch.
The PS4 and PS5 versions of Shantae are powered by Limited Run Games’ Carbon Engine. Additionally, the new release retains the graphics, sound, and gameplay of the game’s initial release. Fans can expect newly added features such as control options, save states, and visual filters just like the Switch version.

Originally released in 2002 on Game Boy Color, Shantae is the acclaimed nonlinear action-adventure-platformer that introduced the world to the eponymous hair-whipping, hip-shaking, shape-shifting Half-Genie heroine.
