Final Fantasy XIV Patch 6.4: The Dark Throne Launches May 23

A massive patch continues the main story.

Square Enix announced Final Fantasy XIV Patch 6.4: The Dark Throne launches on May 23 across PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. The new patch continues the main scenario questline while introducing several new pieces of side content for Final Fantasy XIV players to explore.

Final Fantasy XIV Patch 6.4: The Dark Throne introduces new main scenario quests, the final installment of the Pandæmonium raid series, The Voidcast Dais trial, and a new dungeon. Moreover, players may enjoy new Tataru’s Grand Endeavor quests, Island Sanctuary updates, Crystalline Conflict Season 7, Kugane fishing route, and much more. Thus far, patch 6.4 appears to be one of the largest patches since the launch of patch 6.0 and the Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker expansion.

Additionally, major changes to Allagan Tomestones will be made in Final Fantasy XIV Patch 6.4: The Dark Throne. The update adds new Allagan Tomestones of Comedy into the game’s economy. Furthermore, Allagan Tomestones of Astronomy and Aphorism will no longer be obtainable. Allagan Tomestones of Comedy will serve as the main Tomestones for players who have reached level 90 with at least one class. Allagan Tomestones of Poetics remain unchanged in patch 6.4.
