Gunvolt Series Has ‘Come to a Close For Now,’ Inti Creates Developing New Project

Gunvolt reaches a stopping point for the foreseeable future.

Inti Creates recently celebrated its 27th anniversary and CEO Takuya Aizu shared a special message to fans for their continued support. The CEO also shared a status update on the popular Azure Striker Gunvolt franchise, revealing that the long-running series “comes to a close for now.”

Aizu confirmed on Twitter that the Gunvolt series has “come to a close for now” while responding to a longtime fan of Inti Creates. This means that the Gunvolt series may go away for some time before returning in a new project. For now, Inti Creates is moving on to future developments, including a completely new project. Aizu hopes fans look forward to the new project despite it not being a new Gunvolt title.

The original tweet by Aizu and his response may be read below, via Noisy Pixel:

“Today, May 8th, marks the founding day of Inti Creates,” Aizu said on his official Twitter account. “We have been around for 27 years. We are grateful for the support of our staff, who work together to create wonderful games, as well as the actors, individual producers, production companies, and above all, our fans! Thank you, everyone!?”

“Thank you very much! I’m glad that you have been playing since Mega Man Zero,” Aizu said in response to a longtime Inti Creates fan. “The Gunvolt series has come to a close for now, but I think it’s time to start thinking about future developments. Although it is not Gunvolt, please look forward to our completely new project!”

Lastly, Azure Striker Gunvolt 3, the latest title in the Gunvolt series, is available now for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
