    Like a Dragon Series Sells 2.83 Million Copies From April 2022 to March 2023

    Nearly three million sold in 12 months.

    Sega Sammy released its financial results for fiscal year ending in March 2023, revealing sales data for franchises such as Like a Dragon (formerly Yakuza in the west), Persona and Sonic the Hedgehog. The Like a Dragon series would continue its momentum in the recent fiscal year with the release of Like a Dragon: Ishin!

    Like a Dragon Sales Update

    The Like a Dragon series, which includes the Judgment series, sold approximately 2.83 million copies worldwide from April 2022 to March 2023. Like a Dragon: Ishin! was the only new Like a Dragon release during the fiscal year, and sales data for the individual title was not revealed in the financial results. However, the series was able to nearly match the total sales garnered during fiscal year ending in March 2023, which saw 2.9 million copies sold. 

    470,000 copies were sold for the Like a Dragon series during the first quarter of fiscal year ending in March 2023. 490,000 copies were sold during the second quarter, bringing the total up to 960,000. The total would rise to 1.73 million copies sold in the third quarter. Like a Dragon: Ishin!’s release would follow in the fourth quarter on February 21, 2023, bringing the aforementioned total of 2.83 million copies sold for the entire fiscal year.

    Like a Dragon fans may look forward to the release of Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name later this year for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. The new title stars Kazuma Kiryu (voiced by Takaya Kuroda) in a story that bridges the gap between Yakuza 6: The Song of Life, Yakuza: Like a Dragon, the next major Like a Dragon title. Like a Dragon 8, the next numbered title featuring protagonists Kazuma Kiryu and Ichiban Kasuga, releases in early 2024.

    Lastly, Like a Dragon: Ishin! is available now for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
