A special look at Final Fantasy XVI.

Sony Interactive Entertainment announced a special State of Play showcase is set for April 13 at 5 p.m. EDT. The upcoming State of Play showcase features new information about Final Fantasy XVI for PlayStation 5.

According to Sony, the upcoming State of Play showcase features over 20 minutes of new gameplay footage for Final Fantasy XVI. In a new PlayStation Blog post, Sony confirms the showcase will “dive into all this and more,” but specific games were not confirmed outright. Additionally, the PlayStation Blog post does not confirm an expected runtime for the showcase. 40 to 45 minutes appears to be the average for State of Play showcases, however.

Fans may tune into the upcoming State of Play showcase on the official PlayStation Twitch and YouTube channels. Links to these channels are available below.

Before the launch of Final Fantasy XVI, Square Enix will release a playable demo for fans to enjoy. This demo is expected to release within two weeks of the game’s full launch. Final Fantasy XVI has already gone gold, so development of the game is complete and ready for launch this summer.

Lastly, Final Fantasy XVI launches on June 22 for PlayStation 5 worldwide.
