    The Idolmaster SideM Growing Stars Shuts Down on July 31

    The end of another Idolmaster title.

    Bandai Namco Entertainment announced The Idolmaster SideM Growing Stars shuts down on July 31 for Android and iOS in Japan. The mobile game ends service almost two years after its initial launch. 

    A time table for the game’s shut down was posted on the official website, revealing that the number of staff supporting The Idolmaster SideM Growing Stars will be reduced throughout April 2023. The game will continue to receive updates, re-run events, new stories until sometime in May 2023. No new events will be added going forward, and the game will proceed to close down in July 2023. This news comes just weeks after The Idolmaster general producer Youzou Sakagami stepped down from his role.

    The Idolmaster SideM Growing Stars is just one of many mobile games shuttered by Bandai Namco in the past year and a half. These games include Tales of Crestoria, One Piece Bon! Bon! Journey!!, The Idolmaster: Pop Links, Tales of Luminaria, Digimon ReArise, Sword Art Online: Unleash Blading, The Idolmaster: Cinderella Girls, and Tales of Asteria. The Idolmaster SideM, the predecessor to The Idolmaster SideM Growing Stars, will continue service with new updates and content for the foreseeable future. 

    The Idolmaster SideM Growing Stars is available now for Android and iOS in Japan until July 31, 2023.
