    Tales of Asteria Shuts Down on May 18 After 9 Years of Service

    After nearly 9 years of service, Bandai Namco is shutting down mobile RPG Tales of Asteria on May 18, 2023. A new memorial book is coming soon, and players may transfer some data from the game to a more recent Tales of title. 

    According to Bandai Namco, in-game purchases will be disabled on April 13, and refund applications will open immediately after service ends on May 18. Bandai Namco did not state a reason for Tales of Asteria ending service soon, but the company is preparing ways for fans to continuing enjoying certain content from the game after its shutdown. The company thanks fans for their continued support as the game’s story concludes. 

    Finale

    The final main story chapter of Tales of Asteria releases in April 2023 followed by a “Finale Scenario” in May before the game shuts down. Bandai Namco did not reveal further details regarding this Finale Scenario, but the company promises to share an official notice about what’s to come. Additionally, players may transfer data into Tales of the Rays to receive special in-game illustrations. The data transfer must be made before June 19, six days before pre-orders for the new memorial book close.

    Memorial Book and Original Soundtrack

    A new Tales of Asteria memorial book is available to pre-order now at participating Japanese retailers and the the Asobi Store for 9,800 yen. The 540-page book contains full character illustrations and information from the game. Customers who pre-order/purchase the Asobi Store version also receive a 160-page artbook with additional costume designs. Pre-orders are open until June 25 with the shipping date scheduled for after this summer. 

    The Tales of Asteria original soundtrack is now available online via music streaming platforms like Apple Music and Spotify. Fans may continue to enjoy the original soundtrack to their liking after the game permanently shuts down.

    Tales of Asteria first launched April 4, 2014 for Android and iOS.
