Bandai Namco Entertainment revealed a new trailer for the upcoming SAND LAND movie, highlighting Akira Toriyama’s legendary manga before the premiere this August. The trailer arrived just 10 days after the premiere date was announced on World Water Day. Moreover, the voice cast and production staff for SAND LAND were revealed.
Sunrise, Kamikaze Douga, and ANIMA are working together with Bandai Namco Entertainment to produce the new SAND LAND movie. The movie was originally announced as part of a SAND LAND project, and Bandai Namco is interested in turning SAND LAND into a “full IP.” The new movie is the only confirmed SAND LAND project, but more may be on the way.
In the SAND LAND manga by Akira Toriyama, Beelzebub is a young demon and the son of a king that controls a desert world’s supply of water. Sheriff Rao asks for help from the king to obtain water, but the help he receives is through Beelzebub and his assistant, Thief. The upcoming movie will adapt the story of SAND LAND for public viewing at theaters across Japan.

Fans of Akira Toriyama’s work may also look forward to a new Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi game, which is currently in development at Bandai Namco. The rumored codename for the new Budokai Tenkaichi project is Dragon Ball: SPARKING! ZERO!. Platforms and a release date for the new game have not been announced yet.
Lastly, SAND LAND premieres August 18 in Japan, and an international release date has not been announced.
