Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin Action RPG Announced

A dark tale retold as an action RPG.

A Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin third-person action RPG is currently in development according to Doug Rosen, the senior vice president for games and emerging media at Paramount Global. The game is inspired by recent God of War titles by Sony Interactive Entertainment and Santa Monica Studio (Thanks, Polygon).

The upcoming action RPG is based on the 2020 graphic novel Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin. Rosen states that the new game will be a darker take and depiction of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, remaining authentic to the story of the graphic novel. In The Last Ronin, only one of the four iconic turtles survive. The game will feature one playable character, while other characters may potentially be playable in flashbacks.

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin action RPG is being developed by an unnamed studio. Additionally, the game is a few years off according to Rosen. However, Rosen states the team at Paramount Global have already found the right partner for the upcoming game.

More details about The Last Ronin action RPG and more Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles games will be revealed “in the coming months and years.”
