Developer LYCORIS announced yuri visual novel Summer Love Begins With a Lie (Uso Kara Hajimaru Koi no Natsu) has been delayed from its original February 2023 release window to summer 2023. Extra development time is needed for certain story elements in the final release.
According to a new blog post by LYCORIS, more development time was needed due to lengthy scenarios and a greater volume of work needed for Summer Love Begins With a Lie. For instance, the game is now 1.5x larger than originally anticipated, so further quality improvements are necessary. Further, the game’s Campfire stretch goals were met, so additional animation work is being completed for the final release.
Summer Love Begins With a Lie will now release this summer for PC in Japan. A western release date has not been announced, but Sekai Project’s official product page for Summer Love Begins With a Lie is now live. We can assume that Sekai Project will be the publisher for the upcoming visual novel in the west (Thanks, Noisy Pixel).
