Sonic Origins Plus Rating Surfaces in Korea

New Sonic Origins content seemingly on the way.

A rating for Sonic Origins Plus has been filed by the Game Rating and Administration Committee of Korea. Sonic Origins may receive new content soon according to this new rating.

The Sonic Origins Plus rating was filed back in January 2023 and made public this month by the Korean ratings board. The game’s “Plus” subtitle implies new content being added to Sonic Origins similarly to Sonic Mania Plus, which received new stages and playable characters one year after its initial release.

SEGA’s Sonic series has gained a lot of momentum following the release of Sonic Frontiers this past November. Sonic Frontiers sold over 2.9 million copies as of December 2022, and free content updates are on the way. SEGA is seemingly preparing more Sonic releases in 2023 such as Sonic Origins Plus.

SEGA’s most recent game announcement is 404 GAME RE:SET, a brand-new mobile RPG for Android and iOS by creative director Yoko Taro. In 404 GAME RE:SET, SEGA has warped the world, turning beloved SEGA IPs like After Burner and Virtua Fighter into beautiful girls. Pre-registration is now live in Japan.

Lastly, Sonic Origins is available now for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.
