PlatinumGames Announces Metal Gear Rising 10th Anniversary Event

The rules of nature have set an event for this month to celebrate the game's 10th birthday.

PlatinumGames has announced a special event set to release soon. They will host a 10th-anniversary event for Metal Gear Rising on February 21, 2023. To celebrate the announcement of the event, brand-new art of Raiden in a chibi-styled art style was revealed. You can check it out below:

The announcement has a set of eyeballs, which can be taken in plenty of ways. It’s surely just to hype up the event, however, there is always the chance Platinum is teasing something. No confirmation on what exactly the event will have or reveal has been given. It is certainly up in the air as of now.

Earlier in January, Quinton Flynn, the voice actor of Raiden, was spotted teasing a fan who asked about news surrounding the game’s anniversary. This event could possibly reveal whatever Quinton Flynn was teasing, however, we will have to wait and see.

As for what could be announced, there are a plethora of options. For an anniversary of a game like Metal Gear Rising, there are limitless possibilities. One example could be the game coming to PS+ in the form of streaming. Additionally, maybe PlatinumGames is working on a remaster of the beloved title.

The best option would obviously be a sequel, which has been long-awaited by fans for years since the original’s 2013 release. This does not seem likely at all, but hey, anything can happen. We’d love to get the ability to play the game on modern platforms besides PC, like PlayStation 5.

Be sure to stay tuned for more updates as they are revealed. We’ll be covering the event when it airs right here at Final Weapon!
