Retro-Bit Reveals LegacyGC Wired Controller for GameCube

    2023's first new GameCube controller.

Nearly 22 years after the Nintendo GameCube first launched, a brand-new wired controller releases soon, courtesy of Retro-Bit. The new LegacyGC wired controller by Retro-Bit will be a highly affordable and attractive option in 2023.

Retro-Bit’s Legacy GC wired controller is a Nintendo GameCube controller modeled after the SNES controller. The controller is natively compatible with GameCube and Wii consoles. Specifically, the wired controller is catered toward usage in Game Boy titles, retro games found on the GameCube, and Virtual Console titles on Wii. Additionally, the controller features a 10 ft/3 m cable and turbo functionality.

Although the controller maintains the signature B, A, X, and Y button layout, a standard d-pad is prominent. This d-pad replaces the GameCube controller’s analog and C sticks, but players have the option to set the input to either stick through macros. Further, L, ZL, R, and ZR buttons located where trigger and bumper buttons are normally found on many modern SNES controllers.

Stock for the Retro-Bit LegacyGC wired controller is inbound for January 20 at Castlemania Games. The controller is available in iconic Jet Black and Indigo colors. Pre-orders are available now for just $19.99, and orders will ship within the month. More retailers in North America and Europe will sell the new controller in the near future.
