    Capcom Cup IX Announced for February 12-19, 2023

    Closing out Street Fighter V on a high note.

    Capcom announced Capcom Cup IX is set for February 12-19 next year, marking the end of competitive Street Fighter V play before Street Fighter 6 arrives. The major tournament will be held at the Avalon Hollywood & Bardot in Los Angeles, California.

    Capcom’s latest trailer for the upcoming event highlights the official closing for official Street Fighter V tournament play as Street Fighter 6. Since the event will be at a major turning point for the franchise, Capcom will likely share more news about Street Fighter 6. The company has not revealed an exact release date for Street Fighter 6 yet.

    Capcom Cup IX 2023 begins with Last Chance Qualifiers (LCQ) on February 12 and February 13. LCQ will determine a winner to fill the last spot in the 32-competitor bracket. Group Stage Elimination will be held on February 14-16 followed by Street Fighter League World Championship 2022 on February 17-18. On February 19, the Capcom Cup IX World Finals will determine a brand-new champion to close out the competitive field for Street Fighter V.
