    Final Fantasy series surpasses 173 million copies sold

    Renowned RPG series reaches another milestone.

    Square Enix’s annual report for fiscal year 2022 reveals the Final Fantasy series surpassed 173 million copies sold worldwide.

    The new sales figure includes physical shipments and digital copies sold as of March 31, 2022. Additionally, the annual report reveals the Final Fantasy VII franchise has sold 13.9 million copies worldwide.

    The Final Fantasy slides in the annual report depicts Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- Reunion, Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, and Final Fantasy XVI as major upcoming titles. Ever Crisis: Final Fantasy VII is the only title without a definitive launch window.

    Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- Reunion launches December 13 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis closed beta launches by the end of 2022 for Android and iOS. Final Fantasy XVI launches in summer 2023 for PS5 while Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is slated to release next winter.
