PlatinumGames aims to strengthen Nintendo relationship with hiring of Takao Yamane

A stronger connection between Nintendo and PlatinumGames in the future.

Following the hiring of Nintendo veteran Takao Yamane, PlatinumGames believe the hiring will strengthen its relationship with Nintendo even further.

In an interview with VGC, PlatinumGames CEO Atsushi Inaba said Yamane will help bring the companies closer together. PlatinumGames’ relationship with Nintendo is very important according to Inaba. The two companies have worked on a compelling catalog of titles together including Astral Chain, the Bayonetta series, and Star Fox Zero.

“Well obviously, Yamane didn’t leave Nintendo on bad terms at all and this partnership that we have with Nintendo is very important to us right now and will be moving forward,” Atsushi said in the VGC interview. “I think with Yamane-san joining us here, PlatinumGames can definitely build an even stronger relationship with Nintendo moving forward. That can only be a positive thing for PlatinumGames.”

Yamane worked at Nintendo for over two decades in various positions including licensing manager and managing director of sales. Currently, Yamane serves as PlatinumGames vice president and chief business officer. He leads the company alongside CEO Atsushi Inaba and renowned game creator Hideki Kamiya.

PlatinumGames’ next title, Bayonetta 3, releases October 28 for Nintendo Switch. Lastly, the original Bayonetta game is available now physically at retail.
