Nippon Ichi Software president Sohei Niikawa resigns

The Disgaea creator leaves NIS.

Nippon Ichi Software appointed chairman of the board Koichi Kitazumi as the new president of the company on August 19. Sohei Niikawa resigned from his position as president of Nippon Ichi Software due to personal reasons.

Kitazumi first joined Nippon Ichi Software in 1993 as a representative director. He was promoted to chairman and executive director in July 2009, and he became chairman of the board in June 2016. Currently, Kitazumi owns 480,000 shares in the company.

Nippon Ichi Software subsidiary NIS America will form a consulting contract with Niikawa until his duties are properly transferred to Kitazumi.
