Hideo Kojima sends Norman Reedus to the private room following reports of a Death Stranding sequel

Following Norman Reedus’ confirmation of a Death Stranding sequel, Hideo Kojima posted a tweet featuring photos of himself and his good friend. The cryptic tweet reads “Go to your private room, my friend” as Hideo Kojima seemingly responds to the reports. Hideo Kojima holds a barbed wire baseball bat in Negan-like fashion as Norman Reedus is jokingly punished for his deeds.

Kojima Productions did not outright confirm a sequel to Death Stranding. However, Norman Reedus is one of Kojima’s closest friends and plays as Sam Porter Bridges, the protagonist of Death Stranding. If anyone knows of a Death Stranding sequel in development, Reedus is among the few outside the company to know.

Reedus previously stated that motion capture work for the original game took 2 to 3 years to complete. It was a lot of work for Reedus, but it was well worth the effort as Death Stranding turned into a major success for Kojima Productions. In Leo Edit’s interview, Reedus stated “we just started work on part two of that” when referring to Death Stranding.

Kojima Productions is working on multiple major projects and hiring staff to bring on board. The most recent recruitment cycle is being held during the end of May 2022 as the company conducts interviews for various technical artist positions. This specific recruitment is limited to developers in Japan.

Death Stranding is available now for PS4, PC via Epic Games Store, and Steam. The upgraded version, Death Stranding: Director’s Cut, is available on PS5, PC via Epic Games Store, and Steam.
