Yu Suzuki does not have definitive plans for Shenmue 4 but the creator is already thinking about the new game. Suzuki wants to develop Shenmue 4 and “make it possible for new players” to play the new game if it happens. He reiterates that he believes the game will be developed and released someday.
Shenmue 3 focused on the core audience of fans who helped fund the game on Kickstarter. Additionally, the game followed directly after the events of Shenmue 2. As a result, Suzuki feels that newcomers were discouraged from catching up and wants more people to try out Shenmue.
Shenmue: The Animation has been watched around the world and Suzuki is very pleased. He hopes those who have watched the anime are encouraged to try out the Shenmue 1 & 2 remasters on PS4 if they haven’t played it. Overall, he thinks the anime is wonderful and allows more people to enjoy the complex story of Shenmue (Thanks, Famitsu).
Shenmue 3 is available now for PS4, PC via Epic Games Store and Steam. Lastly, read up on our review of Shenmue 3 here. Stay tuned at Final Weapon for the latest Japanese gaming news and updates!
