According to Windows Central’s Jez Corden, Xbox Game Studios have a big MMO in store for consoles, PC and mobile! This new MMO is reported worked on by Xbox Game Studios and Finnish development studio Mainframe. It will be Mainframe’s debut game as a studio and integrates cloud functionality into the game. The studio’s website states that they’re working on a “cloud-native MMO” with a “vibrant world with new ways to engage and connect with our friends”. VentureBeat corroborates the report, adding that Mainframe is looking into gameplay mechanics that could only work in a server-based game. Xbox has yet to confirm their involvement in the project directly so this will be considered a rumor for now (Thanks, VGC).
