Switch continues to dominate Japan with all top 30 best selling games being on the platform for a second consecutive week ending on August 15th

Last week, Nintendo’s dominance in Japan was shown by taking the top 30 sales for the first time since 1988. This last occurred with the Famicom console which became very popular in Japan at the time. The same just happened once again with sales from August 8th to the 15th thanks to the Switch. The Switch dominated all top 30 of the best selling games this past week with Yu-Gi-Oh! Rush Duel: Saikyou Battle Royale!! taking # 1. Konami’s latest title in the Yu-Gi-Oh! series debuted with nearly 100,000 copies sold at retail. Additionally, games like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD continue to sell in the top 10. The full list of top 30 best selling games this past week are available here thanks to Famitsu.

It’s safe to assume that this will continue to be the case in Japan as the PS5 stumbles to gain momentum in the country. Stay tuned at Final Weapon for the latest Japanese gaming news and updates!
