Unfortunate news strikes the arcade business in Japan today as another iconic SEGA arcade closes down this year. The Ikebukuro GiGO arcade is shutting down in September after 28 years in service. This is due to the expiration of the fixed-term lease contract for the arcade. GENDA SEGA will hold special events and giveaways at the Ikebukuro arcade leading up to the closing. The Ikebukuro arcade originally opened its doors in 1993 and celebrates its 28th anniversary this year.
