EA announced today that Criterion’s new Need for Speed game is delayed to 2022. The studio is working to support the new Battlefield game for this year. Additionally, the recent Codemasters acquisition ensured EA that a new racing game would release this year in Need for Speed’s place. This allows Criterion to have more time to develop Need for Speed and support DICE as another studio working on Battlefield. Work-from-home has fatigued DICE developers so the extra manpower is a welcomed edition for the project.

We can expect new EA games to be announced this summer. In the meantime, stay tuned at Final Weapon for the latest gaming news and feel free to support us on Patreon!
