HP acquires gaming/PC peripheral brand HyperX for $425 million

HP announced today that they have acquired gaming/PC peripheral brand HyperX for a sum of $425 million. This means that HP purchased the HyperX brand from Kingston. However, Kingston retains DRAM, flash and SSD products for gamers and fans. Future HyperX PC components will be produced by Kingston as always. HP’s purchase ties into their initiative into building their gaming peripheral line. The Omen brand hasn’t gained much traction but HyperX is a well known and reputable brand of products to boost HP.

Maybe we could see some of HyperX’s sleek keyboards and mice with HP Omen PCs soon. The HyperX Alloy Origins Core RGB is an excellent keyboard after all!
