The official website for the upcoming anime adaptation of Tsutomu’s Ojisan wa Kawaii Mono ga Osuki (The Middle-Aged Man Loves Cute Things) manga revealed that the anime will premiere on October 4. In addition, a new key visual and additional cast members were also revealed.
Newly announced cast members include:
- Takuya Eguchi as Kenta Kawai
- Yūki Kaji as Wataru Naruto
- Ayumu Murase as Masumi Nii
Previously announced cast members include:
- Kazuyuki Okitsu as Mitsutaka Oji
- Miyu Tomita as Pugtaro
- Fūka Izumi as Bosskichi
- Yurie Funato as Anne
- Asami Tano as Carrie
- Hinata Satō as Greapy
Tomoe Makino is directing the anime at studio LIDEN FILMS. Yū Satō is in charge of series compositions, and Tomomi Kimura is the character designer. Takamasa Nakakuki is the art director, Akira Hashigami is the color key artist, Tomoya Hosaka is the director of photography, and Kiyomi Yamada is the editor. Fumihiko Ōtera is the sound director, Arisa Okehazama is the composer, and Magic Capsule is credited for sound production. YTE is credited for music production, and FUTOKOROGATANA is credited for music production assistance.
The Ojisan wa Kawaii Mono ga Osuki manga series is being serialized on Flex Comics’ COMIC Polaris website since 2017. Thus far, 11 compiled book volumes of the manga have been released as of February 14, 2025. The series inspired a five-episode TV drama series, which premiered on Japanese TV networks in August 2020.
