Square Enix reported a 6.5 billion yen loss with their games this fiscal year because of Marvel’s Avengers. This puts the loss at nearly $63 million as the game costed around $100 million to develop. With this in mind, the game reached around 3 million copies sold worldwide and only made a third of the game’s development cost back. This coupled with a low player base on platforms like Steam shows that the game is not doing too well right now. Hopefully Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics make up the loss with some great content for fans and newcomers to enjoy.
