Nintendo re-evaluates their mobile gaming approach, primarily focused on Switch and the platform’s long term success

In a new article from Bloomberg, Takashi Mochizuki speaks about Nintendo’s shifting approach to the mobile market. In May, Nintendo CEO Shuntaro Furukawa stated that, “We are not necessarily looking to continue releasing many new applications for the mobile market.” With Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ success and the Switch reaching monumental sales, Nintendo is not seeking to release many new mobile projects. Nintendo’s success with the Switch reduces the need to release mobile games. Lastly, less resources are in use for their mobile market endeavors.
