Even with the coronavirus outbreak, Nintendo has proven that they reach massive success with games and hardware. According to the NPD and VentureBeat, Switch hardware sales doubled year-over-year in March 2020. This marks a new all time record for hardware sales since March 2017 with the launch of the Switch and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. In addition, this is the highest first quarter for hardware sales since the DS in 2010. This is followed by the monumental success of Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
