The latest news comes from discovers made within Switch firmware update 10.0.0, thanks to Mike Heskin. Heskin discovered that update 10.0.0 adds support for a new hardware model named “nx-abcd.” According to Direct Feed Games, this new hardware is based on the Mariko chipset. The Mariko chipset is used in the Switch Lite and Switch V2 revision (red box Switch). Another interesting tidbit is the inclusion of support for a second display.

However, its important to keep expectations in check as this is not confirmation of a new Switch model. Only time will tell what Nintendo has in store for Switch fans. Stay tuned at Final Weapon for the latest Japanese gaming news!
