Yokai Watch 4 ++ announced for PS4 and Switch, releases on December 5 in Japan

Level-5 has announced an enhanced version of Yokai Watch 4. Yokai Watch 4++ is heading to PS4 and Switch on December 5th in Japan. This new version of the game includes new yokai, bosses and areas to explore! Owners of Yokai Watch 4 can purchase the new version as an add on to the original game for 1,650 yen. Kadokawa Games announces Metal Max Xeno: Reborn 1 and 2, Code Zero for Switch and PS4

Kadokawa Games has announced 3 brand new games in the Metal Max JRPG series! The first two games are Metal Max Xeno: Reborn 1 and 2. Metal Max Xeno: Reborn is a remake of the previous title released in April 2018 for PS Vita and PS4. The remake is heading to PS4 and Switch this winter in Japan. The engine has been revamped and adds new gameplay systems. In addition, battle dog Pochi returns!

Metal Max Xeno: Reborn 2 serves as a brand new sequel, releasing in 2020 for PS4 and Switch. Code Zero is a brand new project to reboot the series, going back to series roots on the Famicom! This title will most likely release on PS4 and Switch as well.

Monolith Soft’s 20th Anniversary special website is now open, features new artwork

Monolith Soft has opened a new website to celebrate their 20th anniversary! The website features sections about Monolith Soft’s history and thanks everyone for the continued support. Founded on October 1st 1999, Monolith Soft has worked on various IPs such as Xenoblade, Xenosaga and Project X Zone. New art from Shota Sakaki and Yasuyuki Honne are featured throughout the website. The art is available to download at various resolutions. Lastly, the site is available here.

Sony announces today that Worldwide Studios Chairman Shawn Layden will be departing SIE

Sony has announced via their official PlayStation Twitter account that Shawn Layden will be departing Sony Interactive Entertainment. Layden’s career at Sony began in 1987 in Tokyo, Japan. He spent years rising through the ranks of the company and eventually became President of Sony Computer Entertainment Japan in October 2007. Shawn Layden has served as Chairman of Sony Worldwide Studios since 2014, overseeing most of the entire PS4 generation. Lastly, he was a prominent spokesperson for Sony at various E3 conferences as well.

My Hero One’s Justice 2 teaser trailer, playable at NYCC 2019

Bungie plans to release at least one new non-Destiny game before 2025

IGN sat down with Bungie CEO Pete Parsons to talk about the company’s plans. Destiny 2: Shadowkeep releases tomorrow, October 1st. Shadowkeep is a very anticipated release for Destiny fans, adding a plethora of new content to the game. However, Bungie seems to have more plans than just supporting Destiny. According to the interview, Bungie is planning to release at least one new game that isn’t Destiny. They plan to do so before 2025. On the road to that inevitable launch, there are plans for Bungie to become a multi-franchise entertainment business. The full interview is available here.

Square Enix has announced that Dragon Quest of the Stars is heading to the west in 2020! A beta on Android will be held from October 30th to November 28th. Beta registration is open today. Here’s an overview and the latest trailer:

Atelier Ryza reaches 150,000 copies sold in first week in Japan, could outpace previous games in the west

Koei Tecmo has announced that Atelier Ryza had the strongest launch in series history this past week in Japan! Sales have reached 150,000 in Japan. It is set to outpace previous games in the series. Along with this, Koei Tecmo states that pre-orders for the game are strong and picking up further in the west. Its possible that Atelier Ryza will have the strongest series launch in the west as well!

Brain Age is back and coming to Switch!

Nintendo has announced that Brain Age is coming to Nintendo Switch! The game releases on December 27th in Japan as Brain Age: Nintendo Switch Training. A stylus will be sold with the game and can be purchased separately. New features with this Brain Age game include online leader-boards and world tournaments. Here’s the new trailer:

Arc System Works has shown off a brand new trailer at CEOtaku 2019 for the new Guilty Gear game arriving in 2020! May was shown off in some extended gameplay and at the end, Axl Low is revealed! Axl is a returning character from Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2. Here’s the latest trailer:
