IzanagiGames has announced that it will release AKIBA LOST on PC via Steam on October 20. It will launch with a 20% discount, that will last for two weeks.
AKIBA LOST is currently available now for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PlayStation 5. Final Weapon reviewed the game and gave it a 4/5. We described it as “one of the most interesting FMV games I’ve played. It truly feels like an interactive drama and while the story can be repetitive and have pacing issues, I was still invested my entire playthough. The ending is a bit messy but the great characters do more than enough to make this experience worthwhile. While it have some issues I can still easily recommend to anyone looking for an FMV game to try.”
The cast of the game includes:
- Hiromitsu Kitayama as Game Creator / Daiki Shinjo
- Sayuri Matsumura as Maid / Aoi Shinjo
- Momoko Tanabe as Game Streamer / Yukimi Kurahashi
- Misato Ugaki as Gourmet Writer / Moe Kurosu
- Yui Oguri (AKB48) as Underground Idol / Kokone Nagato
- Azusa Ohara as Shrine Maiden / Chihiro Jimbo
- MINA (East Of Eden) as Cosplayer / Wakana Yusa
Lastly, the Steam page outlines the story of AKIBA LOST:
Thirteen years ago, six girls mysteriously disappeared in Akihabara — a series of unsolved cases known as “The Akiba Vanishing”.
At the annual Tokyo Game Expo, Daiki Shinjo (played by Hiromitsu Kitayama), once hailed as a “genius creator,” boldly announces the development of a new game inspired by this very incident: AKIBA LOST.
But soon thereafter, the strange disappearances begin again.
The cast of the game includes his sister Aoi Shinjo, who works at a maid cafe, underground idol Kokone Nagato, food writer Moe Kurosu, shrine maiden Chihiro Jimbo, cosplayer Wakana Yusa, and game streamer Yukimi Kurahashi — each a colorful icon of Akihabara’s vibrant subculture.
The story they were supposed to perform soon begins to bleed into reality.
It all starts with a threatening phone call — and the sudden disappearance of Aoi.
“Stop developing the game now. Or else…the tragedy will repeat again.”
Can Shinjo finish developing the game? Can he protect everyone? Who is behind it all? And what really happened 13 years ago?
The choices determining how the story ends are now in your hands.
