PlayStation has announced that pre-orders for God of War Laufey will go live on September 30 ahead of its release on February 16. It has also revealed the pre-order bonuses and various editions for the game.
Those who pre-order either the physical or digital version will get the Last Wish Armor Set, Phranque Golden Leaves Appearance (cosmetic), and in-game resource pack. The Digital Deluxe Edition includes:
- Dark Alchemy Armor Set
- Dark Alchemy Blade
- Dark Alchemy Bow Scales
- Dark Alchemy Catalyst
- In-Game Resource Pack
- Digital Mini Artbook
- Official God of War Laufey Digital Soundtrack
All of the armor sets will be available in-game after story progression. A PlayStation Blog post also outlines another of Laufey’s weapons: the Serpent Bow. It is an “enchanted bow with the shifting form of a serpent, Faye’s new weapon in the Everywhen can go from dormant to notched at lightning speed, allowing her to weave deadly arrow strikes alongside her other attacks. Much like the deadly bite of its namesake, the Serpent Bow will tear through Faye’s enemies in both close-quarters and ranged combat.” It features the ability to fire at range or as a hip-fire, as well as different arrow options.
God of War Laufey will continue the story of Faye, wife of Kratos and mother of Atreus, as she journeys through the Afterlife of the Gods known as The Everywhen. Recently, Sony Santa Monica announced that God of War Laufey will receive a physical disc release at launch. In addition, both a remake of the original God of War Trilogy and new Kratos-focused entry are also in development.
