The Rogue Prince of Persia Releases 1-Year Anniversary Update

Featuring new modes, mechanics, challenges, and more.

Published:

Evil Empire and Ubisoft have announced that the 1-year anniversary update for The Rogue Prince of Persia is now available. Players can play the update on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.

The update adds new Combat Zones where players are forced to battle waves of increasingly challenging enemies to advance through each level. The ability to freeze and slow enemies using a new crowd-control mechanic is also available. Further, it adds a dedicated Speedrun Mode, that challenges players to optimize their movement and routes while competing against built-in timers. Alongside this, the new Parkour Mode emphasizes wall-running, traversal, and agility more than ever.

Players can also embark on new challenges, such as Daily Awakening and the higher stakes Nyamtur Trials. In addition, to improve the flow state of parkour, the developers adjusted the pacing and difficulty, as well as shortened the initial biomes. The final Palace biome is now completely overhauled as well, in order to be significantly more challenging and better suited for the high-power, late-game builds.

The final major addition is a brand-new slingshot weapon and a new trap-like tool, both of which can be used to dispatch and dodge enemies. Companion animals make their official way into the fictional rendition of Ctesiphon, the capital of the Persian Empire. They will accompany the Prince, offering unique passive or active combat and exploration support. The full patch notes are available via the game’s official website.
