In the September 9 Nintendo Direct, Nintendo have announced version 1.8.0 of Mario Kart World, launching today. The update adds ten classic courses to the VS Race mode and two new routes to Knockout Tour.
The trailer for the update is available here:
So far, the new courses announced are Choco Island, Vanilla Lake, and Ghost Valley. They are based on courses from Super Mario Kart, with “?” item panels reflecting those of their origin game. The Propeller Rally and Turnip Rally are coming to Knockout Tour as well.
Mario Kart World is available for Nintendo Switch 2 both physically and digitally via the Nintendo eShop. Final Weapon reviewed Mario Kart World and gave it a 3.5/5 score, saying “Mario Kart World takes the series in a bold new direction that mostly pays off. Each of the tracks has been expertly designed, the new Trick mechanics make Mario Kart more fun than ever, and the soundtrack is almost unbelievable. Nintendo has established the bones of an outstanding product, yet the new intermission tracks and online functionality troubles hold it back from being what it could be.”
The Nintendo eShop page describes the game:
