Previously, Capcom revealed the Boosted Actions mechanic for the expansion, which it describes as follows:
Ascend to Master Rank with the Boost Bracer, a new hunting action that expands the abilities of each of the 14 weapon types in Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance. Build Boost Bracer energy by staying aggressive with your attacks, then activate Boost with a special Boost Driver attack, or other unique actions per weapon. Boost enables abilities such as new combos and enhanced attacks, allowing you to seize control of the powerful threats that await you.
Monster Hunter Wilds is available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, and a Nintendo Switch 2 version is in development. A free demo for Monster Hunter Wilds is now available alongside a major new update, which lets players transfer progress over from the demo. In addition, there are various new bundles for Monster Hunter Wilds that have replaced the old editions of the game, and the Monster Hunter Wilds Championship – Global Exhibition was also announced for September.
Before launch, Final Weapon reviewed Monster Hunter Wilds and gave it a 4 out of 5 score, noting that the game is “a worthy follow-up to Capcom’s most successful game ever. The revamped gameplay is the best Monster Hunter has ever been, especially with additions like the Focus Mode. Beyond performance issues, Capcom went above and beyond in creating a game I find myself unable to stop playing. With a legitimate story mode and numerous tweaks, there has never been a better time to jump into Monster Hunter for the very first time.”
