Crimson Desert ‘Charting the Unknown’ DLC Releases on October 15

Pearl Abyss has revealed the first DLC expansion releasing for Crimson Desert, titled Charting the Unknown, releasing on October 15. Pre-orders will go live later today. 

The game will feature new home building mechanics, as well as the ability to sail massive ships. Those who pre-order will receive exclusive Charter’s and Charter’s Light diving sets. Check out the trailer for Crimson Desert Charting the Unknown below:

According to the earnings call, Crimson Desert sold 2.11 million copies in Q2 2026. Thus far, it has sold over 6 million copies. Further, in regards to a Switch 2 port, Pearl Abyss stated that “Additionally, as discounting serves as a crucial sales strategy for package games, we are actively preparing promotional plans. For platform expansion, the core focus is ensuring that Crimson Desert’s signature graphics, action, and open-world experience are fully preserved, rather than executing a simple port. In the case of Switch 2, the game has reached a playable baseline, and we are currently conducting technical reviews regarding performance optimization and quality standard compliance, targeting a release in the first half of next year.” 

Crimson Desert is available now for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Mac, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Lastly, the Steam page describes the game as follows:
