Capcom has revealed that a prologue demo for Monster Hunter Wilds will release on August 5. In addition, a new patch will release on August 4, that allows players to transfer their saves from the demo to the full game.

The patch notes are as follows:

Major Additions and Changes

System

  • The game now supports transferring save data from the Prologue Demo. To transfer your Prologue Demo save data, launch the full game while no full-version save data exists.
  • The limited-time event quest “Just What the Doctor Ordered” is now a permanent addition to the game and can be played offline.
  • All 25 currently available event quests and Challenge Quests, which previously required an online connection to accept, can now be played offline, such as:
    • Special Assignment: Slay Gogmazios
    • Freedom from Solitude
    • Event: The Dreamer’s Stairway
    • and more!
  • The event quest list at the Quest Counter has been adjusted so that available quests are displayed at the top.

Bug Fixes and Balance Adjustments

Bases and Facilities

  • Fixed an issue where the “Training Barrel” Pop-up Camp gear option could be displayed twice.

Monsters

  • Fixed an issue where unintended textures would appear on Guardian Fulgur Anjanath’s head, resulting in an unnatural appearance.
  • Fixed an issue where, during certain attacks by Arch-tempered Arkveld, attack effects that should spread in four directions could be displaced by terrain interactions into unintended directions.

Player

  • General
    • Fixed an issue where, after receiving the effects of Synthetic Shield or Synergy enhanced by another player’s Resonance II set bonus skill, players could no longer receive the effects of normal (non-enhanced) Synthetic Shield or Synergy after the enhanced effects expired.
  • Sword & Shield
    • Fixed an issue where, while the sword & shield are drawn, traps could not be placed via a radial menu shortcut immediately after activating Focus Mode.

Miscellaneous

  • System
    • Fixed an issue where background music and sound effects would occasionally fail to play correctly.
    • Fixed an issue affecting the pendant Arkveld: Mark of Mastery (obtainable from the Arch-tempered Arkveld free challenge quest) where, under high system load, the ornament’s swaying animation would stop after drawing the weapon in some situations.
    • Measures are being taken to prevent stuttering when a frame rate cap is set and NVIDIA DLSS is enabled in the graphics settings.
  •  Other
    • Fixed an issue where some voice lines would not trigger properly.
    • Fixed various text issues.
    • Fixed other miscellaneous issues.
