In a new interview video with publisher GungHo Online Entertainment, Nihon Falcom president Toshihiro Kondo confirmed that Falcom is hoping to continue making remakes following the release of Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter. According to Kondo, the remakes would help more players continue enjoying the Trails series up to the latest entry in the series, Trails beyond the Horizon. The development team at Falcom is pondering and asking Kondo if they should remake Trails in the Sky the 3rd or Trails from Zero next.
Kondo said, “2nd Chapter’s development is now in its final stages, and the development team is already asking me if we’re going to remake Trails in the Sky the 3rd or Trails from Zero next. For newer fans, jumping from 2nd Chapter to the latest titles in the series, Trails beyond the Horizon, I think, will still be a bit difficult, so in order for those players to continue enjoying the Trails series, we’re hoping to continue the remakes for awhile. So if we do make another game after 2nd Chapter, we hope you’ll pick up that one as well.”
Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter launches on September 17 for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam. The Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Steam versions cost $59.99, while the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition costs $64.99. Players who own the Nintendo Switch version can upgrade to the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition by purchasing the $4.99 Upgrade Pack. A free demo is already available now on all platforms.
The Standard Edition will be available for $59.99 ($64.99 for Nintendo Switch 2 Edition). Players can transfer their save data from Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter to receive the “Classic Style SC” outfits for Estelle and Joshua Bright, which are based on the attire they wore in the original The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky SC.
