Naruto x Boruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections is Getting New Online Features and Another New Character

Bandai Namco and CyberConnect 2 have revealed a few new tidbits about upcoming updates and content for Naruto x Boruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections, which just received a new update featuring free playable character Nanashi Uchiha. According to Bandai Namco, new online features are planned to release this winter, and a new playable character will join the roster of Naruto x Boruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections next spring. 

While waiting for new details, players can try out Nanashi and check out some new content in update 1.70. The new update for Naruto x Boruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections also includes Ninja Battle Revived, a Proficiency Event, Special Challenges with unlockable titles, and various battle balance adjustments.

Guard Durability

• • • Increased Guard Durability, making it less likely to suffer a Guard Break when guarding ninjutsu and similar attacks. 

Ninja Dash 

• • • Increased Ninja Dash’s Guard damage to align with Guard Durability changes, ensuring its Guard Break effectiveness remains consistent with previous versions. 

Chakra Dash 

• • • Increased Chakra Dash’s Guard damage to align with Guard Durability changes, ensuring its Guard Break effectiveness remains consistent with previous versions. 

Charge Chakra Dash 

• • • Increased Charge Chakra Dash’s Guard damage to align with Guard Durability changes, ensuring its Guard Break effectiveness remains consistent with previous versions. 

Individual Character Adjustments

The following adjustments have been made based on the overall balance: 

• • • Kabuto Yakushi (Sage Mode)
      • Ninjutsu 1 “Sage Art: Scattering Rage Jutsu”: Decreased the recovery speed when using it as a support.
      • Ninjutsu 2 “Snake Confinement”: Decreased the recovery speed when using it as a support.
    • Kankuro
      • Implemented a restriction preventing Kankuro from immediately following up a guarded Chakra Dash with actions such as Throw or Shuriken.
      • Increased Throw damage.
    • Chiyo
      • Implemented a restriction preventing Chiyo from immediately following up a guarded Chakra Dash with actions such as Throw or Shuriken.
      • Increased Throw damage. 
    • Sasori
      • Implemented a restriction preventing Sasori from immediately following up a guarded Chakra Dash with actions such as Throw or Shuriken.
      • Increased Throw damage. 
    • Kankuro (Part 1)
      • Implemented a restriction preventing Kankuro (Part 1) from immediately following up a guarded Chakra Dash with actions such as Throw or Shuriken. 
    • Kankuro (BORUTO)
      • Implemented a restriction preventing Kankuro (BORUTO) from immediately following up a guarded Chakra Dash with actions such as Throw or Shuriken.
      • Increased Throw damage. 

Other Updates 

• • • Added Playable Character: Nanashi Uchiha and her costumes.
    • Added Color 5 to the costumes of some characters.
    • In-game events “Ninja Battle” and “Proficiency Event” will now be held regularly.
    • “Wanted Players” have been added to Ninja Battle.
    • Added “Special Challenges” where players can obtain a new title by completing tasks.
    • Increased the Proficiency Level cap to 130.
    • Added new items.
    • Added new titles.
    • Fixed other minor bugs. 

Naruto x Boruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections is available now on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
