Disney & Pixar Games and Square Enix have announced that Kingdom Hearts IV will launch in late 2027 for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. A new trailer for Kingdom Hearts IV was also shown at D23, revealing that there will be a new world themed after Disney’s Coco. What’s more, the Kingdom Hearts: The Series anime was announced for Disney+ and Disney Channel with an all-new story by Tetsuya Nomura and Square Enix.
Disney & Pixar Games and Square Enix will also host the DEEP DIVE into KINGDOM HEARTS panel from D23 on the official Disney, Kingdom Hearts, and The Game Awards YouTube channels on August 15 at 4:30 p.m. PT / 7:30 p.m. ET. The DEEP DIVE into KINGDOM HEARTS panel celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Kingdom Hearts series and feature a “behind-the-scenes look” at the making of the games.
Kingdom Hearts IV is coming soon to Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. What’s more, the series is coming to Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S in Kingdom Hearts Collection [I~III] on October 8. A demo for Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind and pre-orders for Kingdom Hearts Collection [I~III] are available now. KINGDOM HEARTS HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX will be available natively on Nintendo Switch, too.
Square Enix previously canceled development of Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link. Similarly to Kingdom Hearts Dark Road, Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link was supposed to tell a story that bridges the gap between plot threads long before Sora’s journey in the original game. Before its cancellation, the game was delayed back in November 2024.
