Disney & Pixar Games and Square Enix have announced that the upcoming DEEP DIVE into KINGDOM HEARTS panel from D23 will be livestreamed on the official Disney and Kingdom Hearts YouTube channels on August 15 at 4:30 p.m. PT / 7:30 p.m. ET. The official YouTube and Twitch channels for The Game Awards will also stream DEEP DIVE into KINGDOM HEARTS, as announced by Geoff Keighley.
The DEEP DIVE into KINGDOM HEARTS panel celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Kingdom Hearts series and feature a “behind-the-scenes look” at the making of the games. Special guests for the D23 panel include Nana Gadd (Disney & Pixar Games), Tai Yasue (Square Enix), Haley Joel Osment (voice of Sora), David Gallagher (voice of Riku), and Renée Johnson (Disney character voices).
This isn’t outright confirmation that Kingdom Hearts IV will appear at D23, but the franchise’s return to D23 is promising for a hype cycle of news and information leading up to the game’s eventual release.
Previously, the D23 schedule did not include a livestream for the DEEP DIVE into KINGDOM HEARTS panel, leaving many fans wondering whether or not it was going to be announced ahead of this weekend’s event.
Kingdom Hearts IV is coming soon to Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Before Kingdom Hearts IV’s release, the series is coming to Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S in Kingdom Hearts Collection [I~III] on October 8. A demo for Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind and pre-orders for Kingdom Hearts Collection [I~III] are available now. KINGDOM HEARTS HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX will be available natively on Nintendo Switch, too.
Square Enix previously canceled development of Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link. Similarly to Kingdom Hearts Dark Road, Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link was supposed to tell a story that bridges the gap between plot threads long before Sora’s journey in the original game. Before its cancellation, the game was delayed back in November 2024.
