A new website revealed that Shikiso Utsuzawa’s light novel Because I, the True Saint, was Banished, that Country is Done For! (Shin no Seijo de Aru Watashi wa Tsuihō Saremashita) will receive a TV anime in 2027. The website released a visual and cast and staff announcements.

Masumi Tazawa will voice Eliane, while Taku Yashiro will play Nigel. So far, the staff includes director Tsukasa Sakurai, Naoki Tozukain, who is in charge of scripts, and character designer Naru Nishikōri. Further, Tsumugi Akita Anime Lab will produce the anime.
In celebration of the announcement, both Pukyunosuke, the character designer for the light novels, and Mokuba Matsu, the artist for the manga adaptation of the series, drew art.
Because I, the True Saint, was Banished, that Country is Done For! was originally created by Utsuzawa in June 2020, getting a light novel publication by Kodansha in January 2021. Kodansha USA publishes the series in English. It provides this synopsis:
In this cozy fantasy, a sheltered young saint finds herself on a journey of self-discovery after she’s unceremoniously banished by the foolish prince she was set to marry. Equally adept at baking cookies and battling demons, she soon finds friends and a sense of purpose outside the kingdom’s walls—but will she ever find a place to truly call home? And will the prince who mistreated her ever get his comeuppance?
The manga adaptation is also published by Kodansha in Japan, and began publication in April 2021. K MANGA publishes it in English.
