During its Anime Expo 2026 panel, VIZ Media announced that production for RWBY Volume 10 has been greenlit. A new trailer for RWBY Volume 10 was released featuring showrunner Kerry Shawcross and the voice actresses behind the iconic RWBY cast.
During last year’s Anime Expo, Shawcross confirmed that RWBY Volume 10 was in the early writing and planning stages of development. Shawcross said, “I’m very excited to share that we’re super deep in…early writing and planning. I know it’s been a long journey, and we’re incredibly grateful for your patience up to this point, especially knowing there’s still a long road ahead. But for now, I want to thank the fandom for sticking with us as we keep moving forward.”
The late Monty Oum originally created RWBY at Rooster Teeth. The production company was created in 2001 and worked on several media franchises such as Red vs. Blue, Gen;Lock, and more. It also had a YouTube channel that focused on Let’s Plays. Warner Bros. shut down the production company in May 2024, but VIZ Media acquired the distribution rights for the RWBY series the following July.
Crunchyroll describes the RWBY series as follows:
In a world filled with horrific monsters bent on death & destruction, humanity’s hope lies with powerful Huntsmen and Huntresses. Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna and Yang Xiao Long are four such Huntresses whose journeys will take them far past the grounds of their school, Beacon Academy.
Though each may be powerful on their own, these four girls must overcome dark forces and work as a team if they truly hope to become the next generation of Remnant’s protectors.
