G2 has announced that Red Aura, the new IP and webtoon series developed in collaboration with Japanese art director Runbel (Skill Master Levels Up) and studio KISAI Entertainment (AVATAR: The Last Airbender, The Beginning After the End), will be available launch on June 6 in English. Fans can read Red Aura in English on WEBTOON. with the platform’s vertical-scroll format.
20 episodes of Red Aura are immediately available, including 15 free episodes and 5 Fast Pass chapters. The first season is planned to have 42 episodes, all of which are releasing weekly since its debut on LINE MANGA in Japan this past October. To celebrate the launch, G2 creator and VALORANT streamer Shanks will host a live reading of Red Aura, so stay tuned.
Red Aura combines G2’s storytelling ambitions with a fantasy world setting. The story follows a journey of heroes and magical nomads. A young girl named Asa seeks to become the greatest Nomad in a story that blends fast-paced action, heartfelt moments and themes, and humor reminiscent of great shonen series.
“Red Aura was created as a way to reimagine the ambition and competitive spirit that have defined G2 over the last decade,” said G2 COO Sabrina Ratih. “Following the response to the Japanese launch, we’re excited to now bring the series to a global audience through WEBTOON. Expanding into original entertainment has been a major focus for G2, and Red Aura is only the beginning of what we want to build.”
“The world of Red Aura is fresh and original, which made it really enjoyable to work on,” Runbel said in a press release. “It was a lot of fun working with producer Daniel using camera work to create cool action panels that have never been seen before, and I was always inspired by his passion to try new things. I am very honored to have been a part of it. I hope you enjoy it.”
