Netmarble has released a new update for monster-taming action RPG MONGIL: STAR DIVE featuring new 5-star playable character Narae. The new update also introduces a new story, combat content and various game improvements.

Narae is the younger sister of the Kumiho Maiden “Mina,” and she was trained in secret to hone her water manipulation abilities to ease the burden of her sister and family. As an Ice-element Support character in MONGIL: STAR DIVE, Narae utilizes water droplets to attack enemies while protecting allies. Her special skill “Dew Blankets All” grants shields and increased damage effects to teammates.

There’s also a new three-week special event centered around Narae, allowing players to uncover hidden stories and earn rewards, such as an exclusive animated profile background. Players can also engage in new weekly content called “Legendary Conquest,” which lets players organize three separate teams to take on Legendary Monsters like “Reginula.” Team composition and matching recommended elements are keys to success.

The latest MONGIL: STAR DIVE update also introduces Story Episode 6 “Flowers Blooming from Scars” and the new “Muwon” region. Players can expect the appearance of the “Red Shadow” Swamp Lord boss in the region. Quality of life improvements from the update include improvements to Monsterling filters, the addition of automatic basic attacks for the PC version, and changes to the equipment salvage system.

MONGIL: STAR DIVE is available now on Android via Google Play, iOS via App Store, and PC via Windows (Netmarble Launcher) and Epic Games Store. Netmarble plans to bring MONGIL: STAR DIVE to consoles, including Xbox platforms and PlayStation 5.

Final Weapon had the opportunity to interview the development team members of MONGIL: STAR DIVE, including Netmarble game publishing director Jung-ho Lee Netmarble Monster project director Min-kyun Kim, and Netmarble Monster production director Dong-jo Lee, during Tokyo Game Show 2025.
